THREAD THE NEEDLE: Top Buys For Average Guys

1 Nov

I recently came to asking myself this question: “What if I run out of ideas for Thread The Needle?” I can only be so genius for so long. I decided that at the end of every month, I’m going to have a sub-series within my TTN series. It’s going to be a “Top Buys for Average Guys” post consisting of either top products I’ve required or top products I already own that I liked wearing that corresponding month. My main goal is to give you all insight on a style blogger’s wardrobe; this by no means is an attempt to brag about what I buy. I am an average guy with some average money. Everyone has his or her own style, I’m just here to help shape it. Hit the jump to read about this month’s top buys.

Stars and Stripes Beanie. I picked this piece up at Urban Outfitters for about $30. My main reason for buying this: I’M FROM AMUURICA! I love when accessories, like a beanie, can make an instant impression on me. Match this beanie with a button-up and a down vest on a 40 degrees type of day and you will be set.

Nike Lunar Glide. Got these on sale at Finish Line. I was originally on the search for new work out shoes and when I walked by this, I had to give a double take. Not only do the colors pop so hard, but the comfort level on these are high. It was almost a wonder why these didn’t fly off the shelves in the first place but then I convinced myself that most people don’t steez out like me.

Grey Lacoste Zip-Up. Luckily I know a $lampiece who works at Lacoste because there was no way I was paying $165 for a zip-up. I know I needed a grey zip-up and I’m glad I found this one because it’s lined with waffle, which adds for extra warmth and comfort. I past my Lacoste phase about 3 years ago but a piece like this keeps me coming by the store every once and while.

Camouflage Columbia Winter Coat. Good luck finding this one because I picked this up at a thrift store for $10. Thrift stores can be your best friends on the right day. I’m glad my home boy @howMLb found this one on the racks for me. It’s labeled a small but it fits me perfectly. This coat just pops and has a lot of storage.

Another Enemy Tee and Snapback. I may come off a little biased with this brand seeing how I am their intern but I wouldn’t bullsh*t you guys about style. Another Enemy, a Cleveland-based brand, is on the verge with the release of their Fall line and I have the owner’s permission to showcase these pieces. I love the snapback because it fits the form of my head and has this patch that reminisces on the punk scene. The shirt is shaped after the Miami heat logo, as Miami is Cleveland’s enemy. I’ll put a post up as soon as their fall line drops.

If you can tell, all of these pieces can practically be interchangeable and if you were smart, you can make these six pieces cycle a few times a month and still be draped in dopeness.  Big shout out to @Booitsbridgg (I know, cool name right?) for being my model on this shoot.  Check out the shoot in the $lampiece section.
